Upcoming Range Closures
The Main Clubhouse (Indoor Archery & Indoor Pistol Ranges) will be CLOSED at 6:30pm on the first & last Wednesdays of the month for Membership Meetings and Board of Directors Meetings (full schedule posted on the Calendar).
The Outdoor Pistol Ranges will be CLOSED on Wednesday, November 11th, 2026, from 9am to 3pm for Shotgun Fields Public Hours and BBEC Firearm Safety: Shotgun program.
The Shotgun Fields will be CLOSED one Sunday monthly for Outdoor Pistol USPSA matches, remaining 2026 Date: November 15th.
The Indoor Pistol Range will be CLOSED on Sunday, November 15th, 2026, from 8am to 12pm.
The Indoor Pistol Range will be CLOSED weekly on Sundays from 8am to 2pm, beginning December 6th, 2026, through April 25th, 2027, for High Caliber Jr. .22 Bullseye team practices, with some exceptions, full schedule posted on the Calendar.
The Indoor Archery Range will be CLOSED from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, December 19, 2026, and from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday, December 20, 2026, for Youth Archery Program registration events.
The Indoor Archery & Indoor Pistol Ranges will be CLOSED weekly on Saturdays from 8am to 2pm, beginning Saturday, January 9, 2027, and ending on Saturday, March 13, 2027, for Youth Archery Program sessions.
The Outdoor Pistol Ranges are closed during Shotgun Fields public hours or events as posted to the Club Calendar by order of the LSA Board of Directors.

PLEASE NOTE: The posted speed limit on the road leading to the Club grounds is 15mph. Road repairs and maintenance are ongoing, as well as work by the road owner, so please observe the speed limit to help keep our volunteers and neighbors safe!

Pheasants are Being Stocked!
If you have visited the club recently, you probably noticed that the pheasant pen located adjacent to the Main Clubhouse has been stocked with about 400-500 pheasants, which LSA raises for the state of Massachusetts. Every year, MassWildlife stocks an average of 40,000 pheasants on Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) and other lands open to the public. These birds are stocked for recreational hunting and are paid for by revenue from license fees; however, the cost of raising the pheasants is the responsibility of LSA, and the caretakers are all Club volunteers. We ask that you please do not let your dog(s) wander unattended over near the pen, and if you witness any suspicious or abnormal activity in/on/near the pen, to please contact President Doug Frank at (413) 822-6490 as soon as possible.

Steel Challenge: Includes .22LR rifle. It is .22& PCC friendly; pistols or long semi-auto (any caliber except .357 or 44mag.). Six stages are set up based on official steel challenge designs. Registration 9:30am, Safety briefing 11:30am, begins at 12pm. Cost: $20 for 1st gun, $10 for 2nd gun. 5 MAGAZINES OR SPEED LOADER REQUIRED. Here is a Steel Challenge video.

USPSA: Cost: $20. Cold Range Rules apply; gun handling only at Safety Table. 5 magazines are required. USPSA is a fun and fast action shooting sport where we balance accuracy, power, and speed into a winning combination. Multiple targets, moving targets, targets that react when hit, penalty targets, or even partially covered targets, obstacles, movement, and other techniques are all used to keep USPSA shooters challenged and spectators engaged. USPSA matches are held all over the US with local clubs holding matches practically every day of the week. You probably already own everything you need to compete in USPSA–come on out and give it a try!

2027 Youth Archery Program Registration - Sat, Dec 19, 2026 @ 10am-2pm & Sun, Dec 20, 2026 @ 2pm-4pm
The 2027 Youth Archery Program will run for 10 weeks on Saturdays, beginning Saturday, January 9, 2027, and ending on Saturday, March 13, 2027; registration is required for all those interested in participating in the 2027 season. Registration will take place on Saturday, December 19, 2026, from 10am to 2pm & Sunday, December 20, 2026, from 2pm to 4pm (arrive anytime between the hours posted) at the Indoor Archery Range located in the Main Clubhouse upstairs. Cost is $40 per participant, ages 6 to 16, download the registration forms here (please complete and bring with you to registration): 2027 Youth Archery Program Registration Child must be present at registration if borrowing LSA equipment to be fitted properly for a bow. Session 1 (9am-10am), Session 2 (10:30am-11:30am), and Session 3 (12:30pm-1:30pm); session placement is decided by coaches. WANTED: Volunteer LSA Youth Programs Coaches!
The LSA Youth Programs Committee is looking for a few volunteer youth archery, junior bullseye pistol, and junior air pistol coaches to assist with the 2026-2027 seasons. High Caliber trainings begin in December 2026, Youth Archery Program in January 2027, and Air2Spare’s next season will begin in March 2027. Candidates must agree to CORI background check and eligible training expenses can be reimbursed.
