Board of Directors Coronavirus/COVID-19 Statement – UPDATED 2/24/2021

Under the phased reopening approach outlined by the Baker administration and the Executive Order signed by Governor Baker on May 18, 2020, the LSA Board of Directors voted to reopen the Club’s outdoor facilities (Shotgun Fields, Outdoor Pistol Ranges, Rifle Range, Outdoor Archery Range, and fishing at the quarry) since they fall under the reopening of Businesses category “Firearm retailers and shooting ranges” for Phase 1 on May 18, 2020, as long as the Club and its Members and Guests comply with the Mandatory Workplace Safety Standards and any applicable sector specific guidelines set forth in the Order.

Under the Executive Order signed by Governor Baker on September 29, 2020, the LSA Board of Directors voted to reopen the Club’s indoor facilities (Clubhouse, Indoor Archery Range, Indoor Pistol Range, and Skeet House) beginning Saturday, October 10, 2020.  The Club, its Members and Guests must continue to comply with the Mandatory Workplace Safety Standards and any applicable sector specific guidelines set forth in the Order. What does this mean?

The LSA Board of Directors have finalized LSA’s reopening plan for Phases 1, 2 & 3, and this post / email will serve as the Board’s update to the Membership of this reopening plan, including the new safety standards and guidelines for Members. Under Phase 3, the Club is open to Members, Guests, and the Public as of Wednesday, June 10, 2020 for Outdoor activities and Saturday, October 10, 2020 for Indoor activities with participant guidelines set forth in our LSA COVID-19 Control Plan.

Shotgun Fields hours of operation are (all Public): Sundays 9am – 12pm, Wednesdays 9am – 1pm, and Saturdays 10am – 1pm.

Outdoor Pistol Ranges hours are (Events open to Public): 9am – Dusk daily, except during Shotgun Fields hours when Outdoor Pistol Ranges are closed (check the website Calendar), special events will be posted to Club Calendar.

Rifle Range hours are: 9am to ½ hour after sunset daily, check the website Calendar for closures.  No Public hours, events will be listed on Calendar.

Outdoor Archery Range hours are: 9am to ½ hour after sunset daily, check the website Calendar for closures.  No Public hours, events will be listed on Calendar.

Fishing Quarry hours are: 9am to Dusk daily, check the website Calendar for closures, Members and their Guests only please. 

Indoor Pistol Range hours are: 7:45am to 9:45pm daily (please make sure to leave the Clubhouse before 10pm, when the alarm sets itself), check the website Calendar for closures, Members and their Guests only please. 

Indoor Archery Range hours are: 8am to 9:45pm daily (please make sure to leave the Clubhouse before 10pm, when the alarm sets itself), check the website Calendar for closures, Members and their Guests only please. 

Under the most recent extended executive order signed by Governor Baker (COVID-19 Order No. 63), beginning February 4, 2021 the gatherings limit at any one range/field/bay, upstairs Clubhouse, Skeet House, and other communal areas of the Club is 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors unless otherwise specified in the LSA COVID-19 Control Plan.  For further information about this order, click here: COVID-19 Order # 63

Members, Guests, and the Public must follow the Social Distancing and Hygiene Protocols set forth by the state, which have been adopted into LSA’s Standard Operating Procedures and Range Rules via the LSA COVID-19 Control Plan.  LSA’s Range Safety Officers (RSOs) and other Club volunteers must comply with the COVID-19 Control Plan, and each range has developed cleaning and disinfecting protocols specific to that range.  You can view the Mandatory Safety Standards for the Club here: Mandatory Safety Standards (Please note: This form was supplied by the state, Members can read this as “Rules to keep you safe at the Club” instead of “at work.”)

  • Social Distancing:  Remain at least 6 feet apart from others to the greatest extent possible while outside or inside at the Club; signage has been placed at each range / area of the Club facilities for your review on safe social distancing; individuals must provide their own face covering or mask when on Club property and use it on Club property at all times, especially when social distancing is difficult to maintain; face coverings are required when entering the Clubhouse building and in all common areas; loitering on Club property for any activity other than shooting / archery / fishing is prohibited; and individuals must adhere to the state’s current requirement for group gatherings protocol: 10 or less people in Rifle Range pavilion, 10 or less people per bay at Outdoor Pistol Ranges, 10 or less people per field on Shotgun Fields, 10 or less people at the Outdoor Archery Range, 10 or less people in shooting area and 5 or less people in squad room in Indoor Pistol Range, 10 or less people at the Indoor Archery Range, and 10 or less people at the quarry at any one given time.
  • Hygiene Protocols:  There are two porta-potties on the property with handwashing sinks, one located at the Shotgun Fields and the other located near the Clubhouse; individuals on Club property are urged to wash their hands frequently and properly, and are encouraged to bring their own hand sanitizer and other PPE; regular sanitization of high touch areas (such as equipment, work stations, etc.) will be conducted by RSOs and other Club volunteers, and Members and Guests are requested if possible to bring their own sanitizing products to clean all commonly touched surfaces (i.e. doorknobs, switches, keypads, broom handles, and port areas) before and after activities, and all bathroom surfaces touched; Members and facility participants should not share equipment, and should plan to carry in and carry out all necessary supplies, gear, and waste.

Those displaying illness or COVID-like symptoms should stay home, and will be asked to leave the range / property immediately.

LSA can be inspected by an agent of the state at anytime without prior notice.  If any Member, Guest, or Club volunteer is in violation of the LSA COVID-19 Control Plan, including the social distancing and hygiene protocols, at any time, he or she will face disciplinary actions in accordance with the Bylaws, and this may include suspension or termination of membership or use of the Club facilities.

All youth programs and teams are postponed until further notice.

Due to the again extended temporary executive order signed by Governor Baker effective February 4, 2021 significantly limiting gathering sizes and capacity limits indefinitely, the Membership Meeting for March 2021 has been CANCELLED.

New Member Orientation for March will be scheduled on a case-by-case basis under the gatherings and capacity limits stated at that time (10 indoors, 25 outdoors).  Interested New Members awaiting Range Orientation should email info@leesportsmen.com or contact Stephanie DuPont via call/text at (215) 668-7808, and you will be contacted shortly with further information.  We ask that everyone attending New Member Orientation sessions please bring a mask or other face covering and wear it indoors.

Also due to the again extended executive order signed by Governor Baker effective February 4, 2021 significantly limiting gathering sizes and capacity limits indefinitely, the Muzzleloader Turkey Shoot scheduled for Saturday, February 6, 2021 has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date TBD.

If, at any time, the state rolls back phases or steps or issues a new order, these mandatory safety standards, protocols, and best practices will be amended to reflect the current law, and will be communicated to Members, Guests, and the Public.

Please know that we take the health and safety of our members, youth athletes, and guests very seriously, and we believe we have developed a reopening plan that will provide a safe, enjoyable experience for everyone.
